Ocean Healthcare provide a fully managed nurse-led care at home service for individuals with complex needs.
We directly employ and provide advanced level training to develop teams capable of handling the most complex conditions including those resulting from catastrophic injury or medical negligence. Our nurse leadership team includes specialists in mental health, paediatrics and adult nursing enabling a multi-discipline approach to supporting a diverse range of conditions.

Our highly experienced, nurse-led, care teams have specialist skills that mean they can care for people of all ages with complex medical needs at home.
INFANTS
For many parents having their child cared for at home whether they have a long-term illness, condition, disability or sensory impairment means they can be part of their family. It allows the infant or child to have a greater sense of normality and freedom.
CHILDREN
As young people grow, they want to explore, have fun and spend time with other people outside of the family. Having complex health needs can make this more challenging but with some forward planning anything is possible.
ADULTS
Most adults with complex care needs want to live at home whether that is with family or independently in their own home.

Nurse-Led
Our multi-disciplinary team of complex care nurses oversee quality, safety, training and competency sign-off of care staff. All aspects of our service receive ongoing audits by this team which feeds our service improvement plan.

Managed Teams
Highly experienced Care Team Managers oversee staff teams, their delivery of care and work closely with service user, their families and MDT to ensure best care delivery and good communications.

Retention & Welfare
To ensure consistency and skill retention, we invest a lot in looking after our staff. Our Welfare Officer and Happiness Manager deliver a robust program of staff care and engagement plans.

Recruitment & Training
Expert recruiters source best fit staff for care packages. New staff attend our training academy and then shadow experienced workers before being sign-off when they achieve competence. Compliance: Our Quality & Compliance Lead maintains a dashboard of quality monitoring and training compliance. This is used to make adjustments where we might be slipping from intended position.

Rota Management
Ensuring the right staff are in the right place at the right time and all the right people know about it is a skill! Our Care Coordinators work with our Care Team Managers to ensure all is planned well in advance and gaps addressed promptly.

Contingency
Despite best planning, gaps can appear at short notice in staffing. We plan contingency through cross training our staff and having highly experienced senior staff available.

Recruiting and Training of Excellent Carers
All our carers go through a rigorous interview process to ensure they have the skills, experience and understanding of providing complex care in an individual’s home. We require carers who join us to have at least a year’s formal care experience. All carers complete our induction training programme, which goes above mandatory requirements. In addition they receive bespoke training from our Registered Nurse Team and other healthcare professionals to ensure they can care for people with a specific condition or care need. Our cares then have their competencies signed off before attending a client.

Technology to Keep in Touch
If you are remote to the person who requires care, we have you covered. You will have access to a live feed of care being provided via our care management app. You are able to keep in touch with the daily activities of your loved one. Notes about care, medication and welfare are available at your finger tips to keep you fully informed.
