Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Ocean Healthcare is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline year emissions: October 22 - October 23

Baseline Emissions not previously assessed or reported, baseline year (first reporting period) is October 2022 – October 2023

Emissions reduction targets

We have already implemented a cycle to work scheme that some of our employees have already taken advantage of. We have changed energy suppliers at three of our offices to a supplier who uses sustainable energy.

In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 10870.25 tCO2e by 2029. This is a reduction of 35%.

Progress against these targets can be seen below:

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed carbon reduction initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2022/23 baseline. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 836.20 tCO2e, a 5%ge reduction against the 2022/23 baseline and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

We have changed the energy supplier at three of our offices to provider who uses sustainable sources of energy. The company encourages car-sharing and have also implemented a cycle to work scheme.

Planned carbon reduction initiatives

In the future we will continue to implement further measures. We will continue to promote car sharing and the cycle to work scheme. Director vehicles will be converted to electric vehicles where possible. Our office will be run effectively to reduce carbon emissions – light and heating will be turned off in rooms not in use and the temperature will be monitored. All offices will be checked and the correct insulation will be installed if applicable. Our head office has just had new glazed windows to ensure that we do not loose energy through insufficient and outdated glazing.
