Care Assistant

Nights | Various Shifts | Part-Time and Bank Contracts Available

Join Ocean Healthcare’s Complex Care Team in Plymouth, supporting children at home through consistent, high-quality care. This is not a domiciliary care role. You’ll provide 1:1 or 2:1 support within complex care packages at home and in the community, rather than travelling between multiple service users or short care visits.

We’re looking for confident, committed Care Assistants to provide specialist support for children with complex health needs.

Who do we support?

You’ll be supporting children with complex care needs at home and in the community. Care may be delivered on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, depending on individual needs.

Complex care can include:

• Airway management and monitoring

• PEG feeding

• Medication administration

• Tracheostomy care

• Cough assist

• Deep suction

You do not need previous hands-on experience in PEG feeding, tracheostomy care or suction to apply. Full specialist training will be provided.

We’ll talk you through the specific packages of care so you know exactly what to expect.

Training & Support

You’ll receive specialist, face-to-face training delivered by our nurse-led clinical team and expert trainers, tailored to the individual you’ll be supporting. We don’t expect you to know everything on day one - we make sure you’re prepared, confident and supported before you step into the role.

Pay Rates & Shifts:

• Part-time and Bank contracts available

• Pay rates starting from £13.50 per hour, and increase depending on the complexity of the package

What You’ll Need:

• At least 1 year of UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker

• Experience working with Children is desireable, but not essential

• Two UK work references (at least one must be care-related)

• Reliability and Good Communication

• Right to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa Sponsorship)
