Care Assistant

Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 20:00 – 08:00 | Part-Time Contracts Available

Join Ocean Healthcare’s Complex Care Team in Plymouth, supporting children in their own homes through calm, consistent, high-quality care. We’re looking for confident, committed female Care Assistants to work weekend night shifts, providing specialist 1:1 or 2:1 support to children with complex health needs.

This is a role for someone who is steady under pressure, confident in their approach, and understands the importance of continuity and trust when caring for children and their families.

Who do we support?

You’ll be supporting children and young people with complex care needs during overnight shifts in their home environment. Care may be delivered on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, depending on needs.

Complex care at night can include:

• Airway management and monitoring

• PEG feeding

• Medication administration

• Tracheostomy care

• Cough assist

• Deep suction

We’ll talk you through the specific packages of care so you know exactly what to expect.

Training & Support

You’ll receive specialist, face-to-face training delivered by our nurse-led clinical team and expert trainers, tailored to the child you’ll be supporting. We don’t expect you to know everything on day one - we make sure you’re prepared, confident and supported before you step into the role.

Pay Rates & Shifts:

• Weekend nights only: Friday, Saturday & Sunday

• 20:00 – 08:00

• Part-time contracts available

• Pay rates starting from £14.65 - £17.05 per hour, with enhancements depending on complexity

What You’ll Need:

• At least 1 year of UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker

• Experience working with children

• Two UK work references (at least one must be care-related)

• Reliability and Good Communication

• Right to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
