Care Assistant

Ocean Healthcare is looking for a compassionate and experienced female Care Assistant to provide 1:1 overnight support for a baby under 12 months old with complex health needs.

He is currently in hospital and preparing to return home as soon as possible, where he will live with his family.

He has a tracheostomy and requires overnight BiPAP support, along with regular suctioning and continuous oxygen monitoring. You will also support him with gastrostomy care, gravity feeds, medication administration and full personal care.

Care overnight is structured and routine-led, with a strong focus on safety, comfort and close observation throughout the night.

He enjoys listening to lullabies, watching his tablet and having cuddly toys close by to help him settle.

Shift Details:

• Monday-Thursday: 21:30–08:30

Pay Rates:

• £13.80 p/hr

Key Responsibilities

• 1:1 Support

• Support with tracheostomy care, suctioning and BiPAP

• Support with PEG feeding, medications and gastrostomy care

• Monitoring oxygen saturation (SATs)

• Providing personal care

What We’re Looking For

• You'll have experience working with children

• Experience with Tracheostomy care and Suctioning would be helpful but not essential as full training will be provided.

• A calm, confident and compassionate approach to care

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Care Assistant who has worked with children and is comfortable supporting babies with complex health needs. Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning would be beneficial, but full training and ongoing support will be provided.

What You'll Need

• Good References (covering at least 3 years)

• You must be a car driver

• Reliability and good communication

• Right to to work in the UK
