Care Assistant

Complex Care HCA – Exeter | Full-Time Contracts Available

Ocean Healthcare is looking for compassionate, experienced carers to join our Complex Care Team in Exeter, supporting both children and adults with complex needs in their own homes and in the community.

We have a mix of daytime, morning and evening shift with full-time contracts available.

Who do we support?

You’ll be supporting children and adults with a range of complex care needs, working closely with families and our nurse-led clinical team to provide safe, consistent, person-centred care.

In Exeter, support includes individuals with needs such as:

• Cerebral palsy

• Spinal injuries and related conditions including Autonomic Dysreflexia (AD)

• Neurological conditions and physical disabilities

Training & Support

You’ll be fully prepared for your role with face-to-face training delivered by our nurse-led team and specialist trainers. Training is tailored to the individual you’ll be supporting, so you feel confident, supported and clinically safe from day one.

Ongoing support and development are part of how we work — you’re never left to figure things out on your own.

Pay Rates & Shifts:

• Competitive hourly rates (dependent on shift type and complexity)

• Full-time contracts available

Shifts are available throughout the week. Shifts mostly vary between 4 and 12 hours. We'll work with you to match you and your availability to the individuals we are supporting.

Pay Rates range from £14.50-£17.05 per hour.

We currently have a range of long days, morning and evening shifts available, including:

• Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 07:00 – 09:45

• Tuesday & Wednesday: 16:00 – 19:00

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 09:30 – 23:30

• Saturday & Sunday: 09:00 – 13:00

• Monday – Friday: 07:00 – 10:00

• Every other Wednesday: 15:30 – 21:00

• Every other Thursday: 16:00 – 21:00

What Makes You a Great Fit

We’re looking for people who are:

• Experienced in care or support work

• Comfortable supporting children and/or adults

• Reliable, caring and confident

• Able to travel to service users in and around the Exeter area

• Keen to expand your knowledge and skills with ongoing, tailored training

Previous experience with complex care is helpful – but not essential. What matters most is your commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred support.

What You’ll Need:

• At least 1 year of UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker.

• Two UK work references (at least one must be care-related).

• Reliability and Good Communication

• Right to work in the UK
