Nurse required to support a child with complex clinical needs in West Cornwall – school hours, Monday to Friday, term-time only.

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with complex clinical needs in the West Cornwall area. The role requires a high level of clinical support to ensure safety and wellbeing.

This role involves supporting the child to attend school during term time, providing clinical care throughout the school day. This includes respiratory support such as deep suctioning and TPM, alongside ongoing monitoring and intervention as required. You will play a key role in enabling access to education safely, while creating a positive, engaging environment that supports confidence and development.

The position is Monday to Friday, school hours, term-time only. We are looking for a confident and experienced nurse who is comfortable working both independently and within a school setting. You should be engaging, proactive, and able to build a strong, trusting relationship while maintaining clinical excellence at all times. Experience working with children is essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided in line with the care plan.

  • Monday - Friday : 08:30–15:30

Pay Rates:

  • £23.00 p/hr Monday-Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 clinical support throughout the school day

  • Supporting with respiratory care, including deep suctioning and TPM

  • Ensuring the child’s safety and wellbeing at all times

  • Working collaboratively with family, school staff, and the wider care team

What We’re Looking For

  • Confident Registered Nurse with experience in suctioning and TPM

  • Experience working with children in a school or community setting

  • Calm, proactive, and able to build strong, trusting relationships

Experience with suctioning and TPM is desirable, but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure you feel confident in delivering care.
