Support Worker required to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a young boy with Autism.
Ocean Healthcare are looking for a compassionate Support Worker to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a young boy living at home with his family in Cornwall. He lives with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 3) and associated learning difficulties, requiring high levels of support with communication, personal care, and daily living. He is largely non-verbal, communicating through gestures, facial expressions, physical prompts, occasional single words, and basic signs, supported by visuals and objects of reference.
You will support him at home and in the community with continence care, sensory-based play, and emotional regulation. He enjoys bubbles, messy and edible play, and tactile activities, and benefits from clear routines, simple instructions, and visual supports.
He may become distressed when misunderstood or unable to access preferred items or spaces. You will provide calm, consistent support using a quiet voice, visual cues, access to a safe space, and appropriate sensory input when needed. This role suits someone patient, reliable, and resilient, comfortable supporting children with complex needs.
Pay Rates:
Monday–Thursday:
Day: £15.25
Saturday & Sunday:
Day: £17.80
Bank Holidays:
Day: £20.80

Confident and resilient Support Worker
Experience working with Children
Experience working with Autism
The ideal candidate would be a resilient, confident Support Worker with a background in Autism support and experience managing challenging behaviours. Full training and support will be provided.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visas)
