Male Care Assistant to support a young adult with autism, ADHD and a learning disability in Plymouth. Bank Contracts Available
Ocean Healthcare is looking for an experienced Male Care Assistant to join our complex care team to support a 20-year-old young man living with autism, ADHD and a learning disability. This role involves providing consistent, person-centred support within a structured environment where routine, patience and understanding are essential.
He enjoys sensory activities, water play, outdoor time and watching familiar films. He benefits from support from individuals who are calm, observant, and able to understand his communication style while promoting his independence.
At times he may experience anxiety or become unsettled if routines change or his needs are not understood, so carers must be confident in using calm, supportive approaches to help him regulate and feel safe.
The role includes supporting daily living skills, emotional regulation, community access and maintaining safety.
Shift Details:
10:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday
Pay Rates:
£15.00 p/hr Monday - Friday
£20.55 p/hr Bank Holidays

The ideal candidate will be confident, patient and resilient. You’ll be an experienced Care Assistant who is comfortable working in a supportive, structured environment. Experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD or learning disabilities would be beneficial, but it’s not essential as full training and ongoing support will be provided. For this package of care, you will also receive in-house breakaway training, ensuring you feel prepared, confident and well supported.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
