PLYMOUTH
Experienced Care Assistant to support a 20-year-old gentleman with a spinal injury in Robourgh, near Plymouth. Day and night shifts available, including early days and twilight support. 7 days a week.
Ocean Healthcare is looking for a Care Assistant to support a young adult man who lives at home with his family following a spinal injury from a road traffic accident. Your role will involve providing consistent, hands-on support with his day-to-day care - including PEG care, bowel and catheter care, monitoring for autonomic dysreflexia, maintaining skin integrity and pressure care, as well as supporting safe mobility and positioning.
He uses a wheelchair and communicates verbally, with a whiteboard used when needed. There’s a therapy dog at home, so being comfortable around animals is important.
He’s sociable and enjoys getting out when he can. He likes 2000s music, Yellowstone, going to pubs and restaurants and has an interest in motorbikes. He prefers cooler environments and dislikes hot rooms.
