BODMIN
Support Worker required to provide 2:1 support for a gentleman living with an enduring mental illness in Bodmin. Day and Night shifts available.
Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Support Worker to provide dedicated 2:1 support for a gentleman living with an long-term mental illness. He also experiences hallucinations and delusional thoughts.
With the support of a Nurse on-call 24/7 your role will be to help ensure he feels safe and secure while also encouraging him to rebuild his confidence in engaging with the activities he loves.
He finds great comfort in music, river fishing and sharing stories. He loves spending time with his daughters and enjoys going to live music events, which is something he hopes to regain confidence in doing again.
Shift Details:
DAY SHIFTS (08:00–20:00)
Monday & Friday
NIGHT SHIFTS (20:00–08:00)
Week 1: Thursday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Pay Rates:
Monday–Thursday:
Day: £15.00
Night: £15.30
Friday:
Day: £15.00
Night: £15.55
Saturday & Sunday:
Day & Night: £17.55
Bank Holidays:
Day & Night: £20.55

You’ll provide 2:1 day/night support, ensuring that he:
Feels safe and comfortable at home throughout the day/night
Is supported in maintaining a consistent routine
Has the encouragement and assistance he needs to attend live music events when ready
What We’re Looking For
Confident and resilient Support Worker
Mental Health experience
The ideal candidate would be a resilient, confident Support Worker with a background in mental health support and experience managing challenging behaviours. Full training and support will be provided.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visas)
While there are lots of work opportunities within Ocean Healthcare, the terms detailed in this job advert are specific ONLY to this package of care. Permanent and bank contracts available. You can work full or part time.
