Residential Childcare Senior Support Worker – Provide High-Quality Care and Support to Children and Young People. Day and Night Shifts Available.
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people living in our residential home. You will play a vital role in helping them feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
Shift Details:
08:00 – 20:00 Monday – Sunday
20.00 – 08.00 Monday – Sunday
This will be on a rota pattern

Key Responsibilities
Support the emotional, social, and educational development of children and young people.
Supervise and support team members
Lead and direct teams on shift
Support Registered Manager and take overall control of the home in their absence.
Promote and safeguard the welfare of all children, following safeguarding policies and procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment.
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and daily records.
Build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
Encourage positive behaviour and help young people develop life skills and independence.
Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with young people.
Resilience, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and sleep-in shifts.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
Experience supporting children with complex needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and learning disabilities.
The ideal candidate will be caring, dependable, and willing to learn. You do not need previous experience in residential childcare, as full training and ongoing support will be provided. What matters most is that you are understanding, able to connect with and build relationships with young people.
