Acceptable Behaviour
We expect that all persons receiving care, and those around them, will consider their behaviour and the impact that this can have on others and courteously conduct themselves when care workers are in attendance or when communicating with office-based staff.
Ocean Healthcare Complex Care recognises that personalities, characters and styles may differ but, notwithstanding these differences, as a minimum standard all persons are expected to:
To work cooperatively with others to achieve the objectives of the visits
Give and receive constructive feedback as part of the visits. Such feedback should be evidence-based and delivered in an appropriate manner.
Establish good relationships.
Behaviour that is intended to physically or psychologically harm a carer from an individual who we deliver care to, their friends, family or visitors.
This may include bullying, harassment and victimisation with words, actions or physical gestures that could reasonably be perceived to be the cause of another person’s distress or discomfort.
Such behaviour does not have to be received face-to-face but could be received in writing, by email, telephone or through social media.
