PLYMOUTH
Care Assistant required to support a young girl with complex needs at her home in Plymouth. Days & Nights available Monday to Sunday.
Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Care Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young girl with severe global developmental delay and drug-resistant epilepsy. She has additional complex needs including feeding difficulties, vocal cord palsy, dystonia, severe progressive scoliosis and a catheter. She is non-verbal and non-mobile.
She lives at home in Plymouth with her mum and her dog, Jeremy who can often be found sitting next to her. She enjoys a calm environment and comfort through gentle interactions.
Shift Details:
Day shift time TBC Monday to Sunday
21:00-08:00 Monday to Sunday
Note: We are looking for someone who would like to work flexible days and/or nights throughout the week. We don't have the exact times of the day shifts, we expect them to be long days (up to 12 hours). If you'd like to discuss further please get in touch.
Pay Rates:
£13.00 p/hr Mon-Fri
£15.30 p/hr Saturday-Sunday
£18.30 p/hr Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities
1:1 support in the home environment
Support with PEG feeding, BiPAP and Catheter care
Assisting with epilepsy management
Providing personal care
What We’re Looking For
You'll have experience working with children and providing support for someone with epilepsy
Experience with Bi-Pap, PEG feeding and catheter care would be helpful, but not essential
A calm, patient and willing-to-learn attitude
The ideal candidate would be a confident, calm and experienced Care Assistant competent with moving and handling. You'll have experience working with children and supporting someone with epilepsy. PEG feeding, BiPAP, and catheter care experience would be desired but not required as full training will be provided.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
