Care Assistant

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant (Male of Female) to support a 12-year-old boy with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He is Gastrostomy fed, requires oral suction, medication, and personal care. He is Non-verbal and non-mobile.

This young boy is generally very happy and likes being entertained with lights, music, and a noisy busy environment. He loves being with people and dislikes being alone or quiet times.

You will be working 1:1

Shift Details:

• 07:00-09:45 Every Wednesday and Thursday

• 1600-1900 Every Tuesday

• 1600-1900 Every other Wednesday

Pay Rates:

• £13.50 p/hr Mon-Fri

• £16.05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.

Mileage paid after your first 7 miles to this location in Sampford Peverell up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.

Key Responsibilities

• Supported Feeding through gastrostomy/PEG

• Suction

• Personal care

• Maintenance routines with PEG, suction machine and nebulizer

• Check skin integrity

• Medication Management

  You will be supported by our expert team and receive all necessary training.

What We're Looking For

• Experienced and confident Care Assistant

• Great working with children

• Experience with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, gastro feeing and PEG would be an advantage

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, experienced Care Assistant with including personal care and moving and handling. Experience with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, gastro feeding, medication and oral suction would be very useful.
