Healthcare Assistant (Complex Care)

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Female Healthcare Assistant to support a lovely 15-year-old girl through the day in Totnes.

She has Retts Syndrome, Scoliocis, Epilepsy, Low Bone Density and is PEG fed. She is non-verbal, requires the use of a wheelchair for all of her mobility needs and is hoisted for all her transfers.

You must be willing to be involved in family dynamics as she lives at home with her mum and 2 siblings. Her dad works away but is home sometimes and they have a big dog making for a busy and vibrant household.

You will be working 1:1

Shift Details:

Weekends = 9am - 5pm

Weekdays = 9am - 1pm

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling.

It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.

Pay Rates:

• £13.50 p/hr Monday - Friday

• £16.05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

Note: Paid Weekly or Monthly

For consistency a minimum availability of 2-3 days a week would be preferable up to a maximum of 4 days each week. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.

Mileage paid after your first 7 miles to this location in Totnes up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
