Care Assistant

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to support a gentleman in Chudleigh with epilepsy and severe autism. He can communicate verbally and has some mobility via the use of a wheelchair. He uses CPAP (mask to ensure steady airflow) overnight or whenever he is asleep.  

He lives at home with his mum, dad, and Dog. His mum provides most of his care.

He likes cars a lot and loves talking about them. He also enjoys hydrotherapy and going out. He doesn’t like loud noises and can become disregulated if he is surprised or strays too far from routines. He operates his electric wheelchair himself. There are regular seizures throughout the day, but intervention is not usually required.

You will be working 1:1

Shift Details: 09:00 – 17:30 2-3 Shifts per week. Mon-Fri.

Pay Rates:

• £14.50 p/hr Monday - Friday

• £17.05 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £20.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.

What We're Looking For

• Experienced and confident Care Assistant

• Calm when things become challenging

• Must be a good listener and adapt to requests

• Able to do at least 2 shifts (0700-1730) per week

• Reliability and good communication

• Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
