TORQUAY
Care Assistant required to support an 18 year old with complex needs in Torquay. Wednesday Evenings & Saturday Day Shifts available.
Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Care Assistant to provide 2:1 support for an 18 year old man with complex needs at his home in Torquay. He has a tracheostomy and a PEG for enteral nutrition, is autistic and can present with challenging behaviours. He requires structured support to maintain a strict routine and ensure his safety and well-being.
He has a fantastic ability to complete complex puzzles and likes praise while completing these. He loves carnivals, particularly Bridgwater and enjoys Lego. He dislikes loud noises and unexpected changes to his routine.
He lives at home with his parents, two cats and a dog.
Shift Details:
16:00-21:00 Wednesday
09:00-16:00 Saturday
Note: it would be great if you were flexible enough to do both the weekday and weekend shift, but we recognise that doesn't suit everyone. Please contact us if you're interested in either or both shifts. There may be some slight variation to the start times of the shifts depending on his routine around school timings.
Pay Rates:
£13.50 p/hr Wednesday
£16.05 p/hr Saturday

What We’re Looking For
Confident, engaging and personable
Experience with enteral feeding and airway management is highly desired but not essential as full training provided
The ideal candidate will be confident, resilient and comfortable following a strict routine. Experience in airway management and enteral feeding is preferred but not essential as full training and support will be provided, including managing challenging behaviour.
What You'll Need
Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
