Care Assistant to support 22 yr old man with spinal injury in Yelverton (near Plymouth)

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Female Care Assistant to support a 22 year old man in his own home in Yelverton just north of Plymouth. He suffered a spinal injury and requires support with bowel care, support with mobilising, meal support and management of pressure sores /dressings.

This young man is full of life and loves socialising with his friends and is looking for support to become even more active. He lives at home with his dad and his girlfriend is very present and an important part of his support. He has pet cats.

Excellent training and support provide by our fabulous team of trainers and nurses.

Shift Details:

08:00-12:00 Monday-Sunday

Ideally you'd be available to do 2 or more shifts per week. Ocean Healthcare have other opportunities nearby as well. If you'd like to explore those in conjunction with this please let us know.

Pay Rates:

  • £13.50 p/hr Mon-Fri

  • £16.05 p/hr Weekends

  • £19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities (training provided)

  • Bowel Care

  • Personal Care

  • Pressure Sore monitoring and dressing management

  • Support with mobilisation (self-transfers)

  • Meal preparation / support

What We're Looking For

  • You must be an an experienced and confident Care Assistant

  • It would be great (but not essential) if you have experience with pressure sores and bowel care. EXPERT and COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING PROVIDED

What You'll Need

  • Good References (covering at least 3 years)

  • Commitment to delivering great care

  • Reliability and good communication

  • Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)

While there are lots of work opportunities within Ocean Healthcare, the terms detailed in this job advert are specific ONLY to this package of care. Permanent and bank contracts available. You can work full or part time with Ocean Healthcare.
