Healthcare Assistant (Complex Care)

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to support a teenage boy who has NKH which is a serious and rare metabolic disorder that affects neurological development. He has learning disabilities, communication and mobility difficulties and requires gastrostomy feeding. We're looking for someone who can support him with personal care and daily seizures. He Cannot keep himself safe and is unaware of dangers.

He has limited communication abilities and requires the use of a hoist and wheelchair for his mobility.

He lives at home in Teignmouth with his mum, dad, brother and their dog. His granny lives nearby and often helps support this young man.

Shift Details:

08:00am - 20:00pm, Every Other Sunday

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling.

You need to be an experienced carer. It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.

Pay Rates:

• £13.00 p/hr Monday - Friday

• £15.30 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £18.30 p/hr Bank Holidays

Note: Paid Weekly or Monthly

For consistency a minimum availability of 2-3 days a week would be preferable up to a maximum of 4 days each week. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.

Mileage paid after your first 7 miles to this location in Teignmouth up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
