Ocean Healthcare are looking for experienced care assistants to join our team supporting children in their homes (and sometimes at school) in and around Plymouth. You do not need to have specific experience working with children. However, you do need to be an experienced care assistant and willing to participate in specialist training.
Various day and night shifts available. While there can be flexibility around days/times, we are looking for a minimum availability of 16 hours (2 days) per week.
In this role you could be working with children of all ages from infants through to older children. Care can be provided on both 1:1 and 2:1 basis. Complex Care with children can cover a wide range of things including epilepsy, enteral feeding, trachy/vented, medication management, catheter/bowel/stoma and moving & handing. We can give you a better idea of what you might be doing when we speak to you.
You’ll be fully prepared for your role through face-to-face training delivered by our nurse-led team and expert Trainers. We tailor your training to the specific needs of the service users you’ll be supporting. This will give you the confidence and skills needed to make a real difference.
Shifts mostly vary between 4 and 12 hours. DAY and NIGHT shifts available. We'll work with you to match you and your availability to the children whom we are supporting.
Pay Rates range from £13.00-£18.55 per hour. Rates vary by shift type (day/night/weekend) and by complexity.

At least 1 year of UK experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker.
Two UK work references (at least one must be care-related).
