Healthcare Assistant (Complex Care)

Ocean Healthcare are looking for a Female Healthcare Assistant to support a 5 year old girl with Epilepsy, Familial Vascular Leukoencephalopathy, Cerebral Palsy and Global Development Delay. She is non-verbal but learning Makaton. She has no mobility and can have up to 40 seizures a day.

This little girls lives at home with her parents and siblings, 2 year old and 10 week old, in Crediton. She likes being outside on her trampoline, listening to noises; usually the sound of her sister, the birds or background sounds.

Shift Details:

16:30pm - 20:30pm, Monday - Friday

08:00am - 16:00pm, Saturday and Sunday

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling. If you know Makaton that would be very useful for this role.

You need to be an experienced carer. It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.

Pay Rates:

• £13.00 p/hr Monday - Friday

• £15.30 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £18.30 p/hr Bank Holidays

Note: Paid Weekly or Monthly

For consistency a minimum availability of 2-3 days a week would be preferable up to a maximum of 4 days each week. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.

Mileage paid after your first 7 miles to this location in Crediton up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
