Healthcare Assistant (Complex Care)

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Female Healthcare Assistant to support a lovely 6-year-old girl through the day and on an occasional night shit in Newton Abbot.

She has diabetes and is PEG fed and requires the help of someone who enjoys working with children, is friendly and ideally, can communicate through the use of Makaton. She uses a wheelchair for all of her mobility needs.

You will be working 1:1

Shift Details:

2:30pm – 7:30pm, Every Friday

8:00am – 12:00pm, Every Other Saturday

Also available is one night shift per week - 9pm - 8am

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling.

It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.

Pay Rates:

• £13.00 p/hr Monday - Friday

• £15.30 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £18.30 p/hr Bank Holidays

Note: Paid Weekly or Monthly

For consistency a minimum availability of 2-3 days a week would be preferable up to a maximum of 4 days each week. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are days/times you are unable to work.

Mileage paid after your first 7 miles to this location in Newton Abbot up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
