Healthcare Assistant (Complex Care)

Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Female Healthcare Assistant to support a a 20 year old male with Hypermobility Ehlers - Danlos Syndrome. This genetic issue affects his collagen and makes his joints unstable in the correct positioning. He can communicate all of his needs and requires a wheelchair to get about.

He lives at home with his partner and young son, they also have a service dog called Luna. His main interests are baking and gaming. He likes to take Luna for a walk on the beach and enjoys day trips.

Shift Details:

20:30pm - 08:30am, 4-5 Nights Per Week Available

The ideal candidate would be a resilient, seasoned carer with a solid understanding of personal care, and experience with moving and handling. Experience with BiPap, Cough Assist and Scoliosis would also be preferred.

You need to be an experienced carer. It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need. You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.

Pay Rates:

• £13.05 p/hr Monday - Thursday

• £13.30 p/hr Friday

• £15.30 p/hr Saturday - Sunday

• £18.30 p/hr Bank Holidays

Note: Paid Weekly or Monthly

For consistency a minimum availability of 2-3 nights a week would be preferable up to a maximum of 4 nights each week. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are nights/times you are unable to work.

Mileage paid after your first 7 miles to this location in Dawlish up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.
