Care Assistant needed to support a woman in her 40s living with MS in Wellington, Somerset. Long and short day shifts available Monday-Sunday.
Ocean Healthcare is looking for an experienced and confident Care Assistant to provide support for a woman in her 40s living with Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord and can have a wide range of symptoms.
She is non-mobile and uses a wheelchair. She also requires the use of a ceiling hoist for transfers, so experience with moving and handling is important. You’ll support her with daily routines including personal care, medication, meal preparation, light housework and helping her enjoy her hobbies.
She enjoys painting, tarot reading and crystals and lives at home in a bungalow in Wellington.
Shift Details:
8am-4pm Monday to Sunday
12pm-10pm Monday to Sunday
Note: Ideally, you'll be able to commit to 3-4 shifts per week to provide consistency of care, but we’re happy to chat through your availability and see what would suit you.
Pay Rates:
£13.50 p/hr Monday-Friday
£16.05 p/hr Saturday-Sunday
£19.05 p/hr Bank Holidays

What We’re Looking For
An experienced and confident Care Assistant
Experience supporting adults with physical disabilities
Experience in supporting someone with MS would be very helpful, but not essential
The ideal candidate would be confident, resilient and personable. You'll be an experienced and confident Care Assistant, competent with manual handling. Full training and support relating to MS and other aspects of care plan will be provided.

Good References (covering at least 3 years)
You must be a car driver
Reliability and good communication
Right to to work in the UK (We do not offer Work Visa)
