NEWTON ABBOT
Live-In Care Assistant to support a woman living with ME and other complex needs in Newton Abbot. £1200 per week.
Ocean Healthcare is looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to support a woman living with ME, Cystic Fibrosis, Autism, Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome, Meares-Irlen Syndrome (how the brain processes visual information) and Asthma in Newton Abbot. She lives at home with her dog and two guinea pigs and can communicate her needs well but may need support when engaging in group conversations. While she is generally mobile, she uses a wheelchair when unwell and often benefits from gentle prompting.
She enjoys being outdoors in good weather, has a passion for sailing and is highly skilled at it. She also loves handbags, perfume, shopping and socialising with friends. She runs her own radio show and values independence. Hospitals, loud noises and being told what to do can cause distress, so a calm and supportive approach is essential.
Sticking to scheduled plans is crucial as any changes can be upsetting for her.
